Ola Belgore

Ola Belgore is an accomplished investment management executive with over 20 years of extensive experience in the Nigerian financial services sector. Renowned for his strategic vision, transformative leadership, and results-oriented mindset, he has consistently delivered significant growth and operational excellence across multiple high-profile institutions. A dedicated and analytical problem-solver, Ola combines his deep industry knowledge with an innate ability to build strong teams, cultivate meaningful relationships, and drive sustainable business outcomes.

Currently serving as the Managing Director of Utica Capital Limited, Ola has successfully overseen the company’s daily operations, developed growth strategies, and ensured regulatory compliance since October 2020. Under his leadership, the firm experienced remarkable growth, expanding its Assets Under Management (AuM). Prior to this, he served as Managing Director of Afrinvest Asset Management Limited between 2014 and 2020. He also spearheaded the launch of the Afrinvest Plutus Fund and managed three Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)-licensed funds, solidifying his reputation as a trailblazer in asset management.

Earlier in his career, Ola held several pivotal roles at Meristem Group. As Group Head of Business Development, he coordinated cross-selling initiatives across five subsidiaries, tracked revenue performance, and designed innovative business strategies to enhance client acquisition and retention. He also led Meristem Business Associates (MBA), an initiative he founded to expand the company’s referral network and deepen market penetration. Prior to this, he served as Head of Wealth Management at Meristem Wealth Management Limited, where he built and managed investment portfolios, oversaw product development, and advised high-net-worth individuals and family offices.

Ola began his investment professional journey in 2003 at TRW Stockbrokers Limited, where he developed marketing strategies and managed both institutional and individual client portfolios. He also fulfilled his national service as a Tutor at the Ondo State School of Nursing and served as President and Coordinator of the NYSC/NDLEA Drug-Free Club, where he organized awareness campaigns and youth engagement programs focused on substance abuse prevention.

Academically, Ola holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in International Management from Lincoln University, USA, obtained in 2010. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Lagos in 2003 and completed his secondary education at Patigi Secondary School, Kwara State, in 1994.

A lifelong learner and active contributor to the professional community, Ola has earned numerous certifications and accolades. He is a Chartered Wealth Manager (CWM) from the American Academy of Financial Management and an Associate Chartered Stockbroker (ACS) with the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He is also a Fellow of the Association of Investment Advisers and Portfolio Managers (IAPM), a Council Member of the Association of Corporate and Individual Investment Advisers (CIIA), and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN). Additionally, he is affiliated with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI), the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Arbitration (UK), the Nigerian Institute of Management, and the Commodity Brokers Association of Nigeria. Additionally, he is an authorised dealing clerk on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX), underscoring his deep engagement with capital markets.

In recognition of his achievements, Ola has received several honors, including being named “Best in Asset Management” by Wealth & Finance International in 2014 and being conferred with an Honorary Senior Membership by the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria in 2017.
